The earth is a world of contrasts. A few scenes in Kenya highlights the differences according to the closeness of the subjects and location of my camera.


First, people in the basket of the hot air balloon above, are standing (not sitting). In comparison to the huge balloon above them, they look tiny don’t they? Same for the egret and the elephant. One wrong step by the elephant would flatten the bird, but it didn’t happen.

Lastly, a mother giraffe and its calf. Even though newborn giraffes usually measure 6 feet tall, this one looks smaller in comparison to its mom, doesn’t it? Both images of the elephant and the giraffes were taken from quite a distance and the safety of our jeep. What about the trees in the background? Are they actually shorter than the giraffes?
