A Radiant African Sunset

With another year over with, I am left with many memories of the past. Here are two attempts at capturing a radiant African sunset at Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.

Giraffes – Africa’s Tree Trimmers

My trip to Africa was the highlight of 2024 and a once in a lifetime opportunity. My last post, Into the WIld many months ago, included photos of a variety of African wildlife. I had promised more photos from my trip but we moved to Michigan just two weeks later. Going through those hundreds of pictures got put on the back burner for a little while.

Chasing the Sunset

We are settled in our new home now and more Africa pics will be added over time. It is also time to experience adventures along Michigan trails. Join me through my pics right here. Wishing you a wonderful new year!

  1. Lovely. I lived in West Africa for about 3 months, many years ago. Stayed with some missionary friends. Changed my perspective on the world permanently in a needed way. All I had back then was a pentax 35mm point and shoot. But my slides were very good. Hoping to one day digitize them. Blessings.

    1. What a wonderful experience that must have been! Just being there for 2 weeks was an experience of a lifetime for me. You should definitely digitized your slides. 😉

  2. Thank you for these beautiful scenes.
I hope you will be happy at your new home. Best wishes for the (still) new year.

By just looking at these 2 photos, I can feel that your African safari must’ve been so much more.
And correct me if I’m wrong, you have moved to Michigan from Chicago. Right?

    1. Partly right. We moved to Michigan from Northwest Indiana about an hour outside of Chicago. It was almost like living in a suburb of Chicago but in different state. 😉
