What Lays Ahead

Part of the fun of hiking a trail for the first time is not knowing what lays ahead. The sound of bird song and rustling of leaves encourages me to head deeper into the woods.

The Midwest states offer many beautiful trails to explore. The first and third images were along the trails at West Lakes Preserve in Portage, Michigan. The second is from one of my favorite go-to spots in Valparaiso, Indiana – Moraine Nature Preserve.

The trails are calling and I must go!
