The Battle for the Best Shot

Battle for the Best Shot

Kensington Metropark is where the battle for the best shot took place. Across from the Blue Heron Rookery, photographers and birders gather along the boardwalk by the dozens.

On this particular day, I decided to take a few shots of other photographers, hard at work at their art.

Another photographer, who stood out in his red jacket in downtown Chicago was featured on “A Photographer’s Magnet“.

  1. Well, now that I see the size of those photographers’ long lenses, I know why all the creatures at Kensington Metropark in the Facebook page for Metroparks photographers, have such clear and close-up shots!

    1. True, long lenses help with close up shots of birds and other wildlife. Cameras on phones have come a long way over a relative short period of time too.

  2. Great twist, Pepper! I have always admired photographers for catching a moment that makes you feel something, which is harder than it looks. This is a fun turn, pointing the camera back at them. I would be the one further down the path holding up an iPhone and hoping for the best. But to be fair, I would like to see one of them flip their camera for a selfie! haha

    1. A selfie with a big camera! Now there is a thought that made me laugh out loud. Now that would have some interesting and funny results for sure. 😂

  3. Hand-held with a big telephoto lens.  Wow!

    1. Yes, it is possible. I am wondering if it is a mirrorless camera . 🤔

      1. Mirrorless and with gr8 image stabilization, I’m sure, as well as steadier hands than mine.

        1. I think you’re right. 😊

  4. Great idea, Pepper. Shots of those rarely in photographs themselves.

    1. Thanks, Sue. I don’t like to have my picture taken and yet, there I am photographing other photographers! 🤭

  5. Interesting, tripod versus handheld!

    1. All a matter of preference, I think. 😊

    1. Yay! It is fun capturing the unsuspecting photographer. 😁

  6. I love your photos and excellent theme, Pepper. You as a photographer taking photos of photographers…brilliant!

    1. So glad you enjoyed the photos, Suzette. It is fun capturing the unsuspecting photographer. 😁

      1. It’s a great idea!

  7. “Wer macht das beste Photo?” – So I showed it on my Blog.

    1. Thanks, Gisela.
