A Photographer’s Magnet

The Bean in Chicago is a photographer’s magnet. Made entirely of steel plates, reflections bounce off from every direction. Designed by Anish Kapoor, it has stood out in Millennium Park since 2006. Officially named the Cloud Gate, it didn’t take long for its nickname “The Bean” to stick.

For a view of why the nickname has prevailed, take a look at its shape on “Reflections on the Bean.”

  1. ooh this is rather fab

    1. Thanks, Becky. 😊

  2. As you know, I couldn’t get anywhere near this close on my Chicago trip so I’m very jealous of that photographer, and of you 😆

    1. So sorry. I had an advantage for a while. We lived within an hour train ride to downtown Chicago and we went there often. 😉

  3. My favorite thing in Chicago. When we lived in Naperville, I used to take the train into Chicago once in a while, and the Bean was always at or near the top of the list of what I wanted to see.

    1. Same here! I also used to take the train to Chicago often, specifically for photography. The Bean is very conveniently across from the last stop. 😊

  4. It. looks interesting.

    1. It is! At least, photographers find it interesting. 😊

Thoughtful words accomplish much.
