Standing Watch

While out on a game drive in Africa, we came across this stern looking African fish eagle. The raptor (lcthyophaga vocifer) was standing watch over Amboseli National Park. Because of its distinctive call, the fish eagle is often referred to as the “sound of Africa.”

Another African bird image of a blue-breasted bee eater was shared on my blog on “All Dressed in Green“.

  1. Similar in some ways to the American Bald Eagle. Looks like it’s wearing a long hood.

    1. I agree! At first glance from a distance, I thought it could be a bald eagle. 😊

  2. He reminds me of a white-wigged, English magistrate!

    1. That was my thought exactly! 😂

    1. Yes, I agree with that. 😉

  3. Incredible photo! Wow!!

    1. Thanks, Kathy. So glad you enjoyed the image. 😉
