One Step at a Time #8

One Step at a Time #8

Here we go with One Step at a Time #8. This week I have two photos from my latest hike at Island Lake Recreation Area in Brighton, Michigan. Green has made an entrance along the trails. Happiness!

A winding dirt path surrounded by tall trees with budding leaves in a serene forest setting.
A serene view of a river surrounded by trees with green leaves, reflecting the peaceful atmosphere of a natural landscape.

As I scrolled through the posts shared for One Step at a Time #7, I wondered how many miles the combined total is for all who have participated for the last few couple of months. Pat yourselves on the back for getting out there and taking some fun photos to share. If you haven’t looked through the links from last week, here they are:

Sue shared some beautiful shots of the Pacific shoreline.
Linda brought a wonderful array of sunshine and reflections.
Xenia captured the most adorable lambs ever.
Egidio brought some fantastic macro photos.
Anita joined in with some beautiful seascapes.

If you’d like to show us where your adventures have taken you, leave a link on the comments below. Also, please tag your post with One Step to make it easier for others to find.

  9. Thank you again for the mention Pepper. Your trail and woods look inviting, all fresh and green, recently leafed out. I have to get back into posting how many miles I did on each walk – I always did so in the past. I’ve had the same pedometer since I began walking in 2011. Here is my walk taken on Mother’s Day 2025, with the rest of the walk to post this Sunday for Mother’s Day: https://lindaschaubblog.net/2026/05/03/mothers-day-marsh-meander/

    1. Thank you for sharing your posts, Linda. I look forward to see your adventures each week. I am impressed that you’ve been walking since 2011. 😉

      1. You’re welcome Pepper. I have to get back to walking regularly. Between the weather and these repair commitments, I’ve had to skip quite a few walking days. I had to have the washer repaired today and tomorrow I have someone coming for the gutter repair. There is no end to home maintenance issues sometimes and they seem to run in spurts. A few weeks ago it was the plumber. Friday I hope to pick up my car. It’s been two weeks today since I took it in.

        1. On the good side, maybe that means all your repair work will be done in perfect timing with better weather for walks. 😉

          1. That is what I am hoping Pepper. The guy is going to repair the siding and do the new steps next Wednesday … I am hoping to salvage part of May for walking. I’m still hopeful the car is ready tomorrow, though the weather is iffy for the weekend … I don’t want to get caught in the rain with the new paint job.

  10. Love the spring green that’s throughout the trees.

    1. Me, too! Glad that it is looking more like spring even though it is still a little on the cool side. 😊

  11. Here’s my post. I still am not sure these match the theme, since many of my trips were from a few years ago. either way, though… blessings your way Pepper

    1. Sue, your images are beautiful and perfect for the challenge. There is no theme each week so you are free to post wherever you have explored, current or from the past.

  12. What a great walk! Viewing forests and water is never a bad sight.

    1. I agree! Walking through forests next to water makes me happy. 😊

        1. am so excited about this post. Thanks for sharing it, Egidio. 😁

          1. You’re welcome.

  13. Beautiful! I love that fresh green.

    1. I do too! A promise of things to come. 😊
