One Step at a Time #11

One Step at a Time #11

One Step at a Time #11 takes us to Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter, Michigan. Spring wildflowers were blooming along the trails. A Mayapple blossom was featured in an earlier post this week, Close to the Ground.

  2. Well, I realized I linked to this post twice, Pepper. Here is mine again for the bike ride, which does require some steps…

    1. Thanks, Terri. Always glad to have you link again. πŸ˜‰

    1. Thanks for introducing me to red silos, Sue.
Are you still doing your Weekly Wednesday Challenge? I have missed seeing them the last couple of weeks.

      1. I am not. Gave it several months, then closed shop since it never really took off. Not the first time in my life and won’t be the last. I move forward and enjoy other’s challenges.

  3. Spring looks like it’s in full swing

    1. It is in full swing and I am enjoying it every chance I get. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

  4. Wow, everything is so green! Love the purple flower 🩷
Here is my entry this week: https://wanderingteresa.com/travel-diary-ba-na-hills-day-11/

    1. Thanks, Teresa. I look forward to your contribution each week. Wishing I could hide in our bag when you travel. Since I can’t do that, I’ll continue to enjoy your pics. 😁

  5. […] I am linking this to Jo’s Monday Walk, and to Pepper’s One Step at a Time […]

  6. Hi Pepper – I just got online and was putting today’s Wordless Wednesday post for Terri’s Flower Hour and remembered I didn’t put my Sunday post about how I tiptoed through the tombstones link here yesterday:
    https://lindaschaubblog.net/2026/05/24/honoring-our-centuries-old-war-dead/

    1. Not a problem. Links can be added anytime throughout the week. Sp glad you remembered. πŸ˜‰

      1. I don’t know how I missed this comment or the other one. I had a WP issue the other day where I was responding to a comment and WP flipped me out of the comment and showed I had no notifications. I went to that person’s site, but still no comments showed up – these must be those comments.

        1. I had the exact same problem for a couple of days in a row. WP must be doing some updating.

          1. I had it happen tonight and now I know if I just exit WP, not even logout, the notifications come back – whew! I didn’t know the other day. We bloggers have to be on our toes constantly it seems.

            1. Yup, we sure do. 😊

              1. It just happened to me again – now I am glancing to see what is there beforehand in case it doesn’t come back.

  7. Your trail looks beautiful and springy, Pepper. The purple flower is so delicate. Our trail took us to Lodi, CA where we visited a resort and wandered through the garden. Even though it was well-maintained, it had the appearance of a wildflower garden with all different species planted next to each other. Is your weather muggy yet?

    1. This week, the temps are getting up in almost 80. It is just starting to feel a warm and muggy.

      1. I remember those days! It sure is beautifully green.❀️❀️❀️

  8. Everything looks so green and Springy here on your trek Pepper!

    1. It is a lovely spring green for now. Did I tell you that I made it to Lake Erie Metropark? Pics coming up soon. πŸ˜‰

      1. That’s great, one more park to add to your Trail Challenge! I’ll look forward to seeing them!

  9. Such beautiful woods and trail. I love the scenes you photographed. Here’s one from me:

      1. Thanks for the feedback.

  10. Hi Pepper. I shared my link to the Vicksburg bridge last week. Sorry, if it didn’t go through on your end. I’ll catch back up with a new one to add to One Step soon!

    1. Thanks for letting me know, Sue. I’ll look again and add it to my post right now. So sorry it didn’t go through.

    2. Found it and it has been added to the links on this post. For some reason, pingbacks do not always go through. Adding a link in the comments seems to be more dependable. Haven’t figured out why this is.

  11. I really enjoyed your images of this beautiful, peaceful place.

    1. Thanks, Beth.

  12. Such beautiful green!

    1. I agree. Spring green is lovely. 😊

  13. One step at a time toward beautiful flowers and landscapes.

    1. Well said, Rebecca. 😁

  14. I’m always struck by how much northern woods resemble our landscape here in Eastern Washington, Pepper. Here is mine this week!

  15. Nice view of that purple flower and the lush green of the trail.

Here is my One Step: https://frankhubeny.blog/2026/05/26/trail-this-side-of-the-railroad-tracks/

    1. Thanks, Frank. So happy to have you join in again this week. Have a great day. 😁

  16. Thanks for sharing, Pepper. I used to live in this area, and frequented Hudson Mills Metropark on many occasions, enjoying their frisbee disc golf courses. Have a great week ahead! πŸ™‚

    1. I have enjoyed visiting Hudson Mills Metropark a few times over the last year.

  17. Beautiful pictures. I can smell that air.

    1. I appreciate your comment, Lynette.

  18. That is rather wild looking. Beautiful flower photo Irene πŸ˜€

    1. Thanks, Brian. That is one reason I enjoy hiking on unpaved trails. The more natural and wilder, the better. 😁
