How Far Can You Go

A total of 13 parks make up the Huron-Clinton Metroparks in the Detroit, Michigan area. As of May 1, there is a challenge going on to encourage people to get to all 13 Metroparks. There are incentives along the way but the biggest one comes at the end. Hike, bike, run, or roll on a prescribed trail at the Metroparks to earn a 2026 Annual Vehicle Pass. The challenge runs through October 1st to see how far you can go.

These images are from Huron Meadows Metropark and so far is one of my top two favorite parks. Photos of the other 12 Huron-Clinton Metroparks will be posted over the next few weeks.

Photos from another park, Kensington Metropark, were posted on “One Day at a Time.”

  1. That’s a pretty great incentive to visit all the metroparks! Glad to hear you took up the challenge!

    1. Thanks! I have made it to all thirteen. Now, I just got to through all the photos I’ve taken. 😁

  2. That’s a fun challenge! What are some of the incentives?

    1. Just for signing up, I got a huge stainless steel tumbler that I’ve been using everyday. We’ll also get a sticker for each Metropark to put on the tumbler. The big incentive is an entry pass to the Metroparks for next year. 😁

  3. Just lovely

    1. Thanks, Hammad. 😊

  4. So beautiful was through the Forest!πŸ™πŸŒ³πŸŒΏπŸ’š

    1. Thanks, Gisela. Yes, I do love the green forests. 😊

  5. Good incentive! πŸ‘πŸΌ

    1. Yes, it is my type of challenge. 😊

  6. I used to play πŸ₯ disc golf at Kensington Metropark πŸ‘

    1. That must have been fun! It is still a busy spot most weekends. 😊

      1. Good morning, Irene. I haven’t been to Kensington Metropark since I moved to Tennessee several years ago, but I don’t recall it ever being too busy, with the exception of holiday weekends. It’s a big park with a large lake, great walking paths, trail and, as noted frisbee disc giolf courses. Wishing you a fun Memorial Day weekend, my friend! πŸ™‚

  7. Just beautiful Pepper!

    1. Thanks, Anne. The best part is that these trails are very close to home. I’ll be back! 😁
