Flawless Barn Doors

flawless barn doors

This week, I have some well-maintained and flawless barn doors for Dan’s Thursday Doors Challenge. I spotted them a few weeks ago at the Johnson Nature Center in Bloomfield, Michigan. Quite the opposite from the ones featured last week that were barely hanging on.

Close-up of a rustic wooden double door on a log cabin structure, featuring a simple latch and visible wood grain, with a stone foundation and surrounding greenery.

  1. Lovely doors and a nice photo, Pepper. As a side note, I hesitate to mention that I believe they were hung wrong. The diagonal braces should be reversed, running from the bottom near the hinges to the top crosspiece corners. You want the weight of the door to transfer along the braces and be held in place by the bottom hinges. The way they are now will encourage sagging in the center. If you rotate the photo 180 degrees then the doors look hung in the correct position. I know, TMI. Sorry. 🙂
