Edison’s Laboratory

Edison's Laboratory

Thomas Edison’s Laboratory in Menlo Park in New Jersey is where Edison started more than 400 inventions, including the phonograph.

The original laboratory was opened in 1876. A replica built in 1929, now stands in Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan.

Did you notice the pipe organ in the photo above? According to info gathered at Greenfield Village, Edison’s workers entertained themselves with the organ on the second floor. Many of his experiments were also created on the same floor.

A trio of images from Greenfield Village were featured on “Back in Time.”
