Thanks for the warning! I have had to remind myself of that danger since moving here. We didn’t have a problem of poisonous snakes in Indiana. BTW – Did you get an email from me a couple of days ago?
Yes, two rattlesnakes in a matter of weeks is worrisome. I did get an e-mail but have not read it yet.

Hi Pepper – I just got online and heard on the news about this event at Kensington Metropark … you’ve probably seen ads for it, but the first I heard of it was on the news this morning. Hopefully they are not anywhere near the nature trail: 2026 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships, running from August 26–30, 2026.
There is a nature trail along the disc section but it is easy to avoid the area. Most of the trails that I enjoy the most are at the opposite end of the park. I usually avoid Kensington on the weekends anyway because that is when it is the busiest. Thanks for the heads up. 😊
Okay, I know you said it is a big park, so that’s good it won’t hinder being on the nature trails.
On this type of busy weekends with an event going on, the traffic getting in and out of the park is more of a problem than people on the nature trails. 😉
Yes, I would imagine it would be. Hopefully it doesn’t deter the nature photographers from showing up since some of them can only do that on weekends if they work.
So true. Maybe they head out to one of the two State Recreation Areas that are adjacent to Kensington. 🤔
