On a cold, snowy day last week, I headed out to the warmth of the conservatory at Matthaei Botanical Gardens. With lots of color, touches of pollen, and warmth, it was the perfect place to work on some macro photography.

An interesting exhibit going on now at the conservatory has to do with macro photography. Specifically, looking at life on leaves at the microscopic level. “Leaves Under the Lens” is work done by University of Michigan Ph.D. student Rosemary Glos. Unfortunately, I was at the Mattheai Gardens a few days too early for this since it opened February 1st. My plan is to go back to learn more about what I have been missing by not looking even closer. Anyone want to join me?
