Tiny Details

Tiny Details

Tiny details inside the pink blossom of a Purple Heart plant. I got to spend some time at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens earlier this week. This is one of many pretty blossoms in their conservatory.

    1. Me too! I hope to get a better shot of the leaves on the plant the next time I am there. They are a gorgeous, deep purple color. The leaves were in the shadows and didn’t come through on the image. Have to try it with a flash next time.

  1. Beautiful details

    1. Thanks, Nora, Have a wonderful weekend. πŸ˜‰

  2. Very pretty and delicate, especially with the dark background!

    1. Thanks, Linda. I hope you didn’t lose power yesterday with all the wind. 😊

      1. No, I was lucky and did not lose power in those high winds (72 mph at the airport, almost hurricane force winds), but a few years ago I invested in an instant-on generator because I worried about Winter storms and losing power. I worried about frozen pipes and also have no family I could stay with and hotels are difficult to find in a big power outage. My mom and I once went an entire week in Winter with no power. I hope you were unscathed as well. I know there were outages in Oakland County. We are having more severe weather and high winds Sunday night, so weather worries for the third time in one week!

        1. It was crazy but we made through just fine too. Take care this evening. 😊

          1. That’s good – tonight’s wind will ramp up after 8:00 p.m. and the worst around midnight they say – another late evening of staying up into the wee hours of the morning. I am really not a night owl, but we have many old trees in the neighborhood.

            1. Not ready for that. Stay safe, Linda.

              1. Me neither – the weather alarm hasn’t gone off yet and I hope it stays off. You stay safe too Pepper.

                1. Made it through the night without any problems. I hope you did too. It was windy but not as bad as the other day.

                  1. I’m glad to hear that Pepper. I didn’t think it was as bad as Friday either, but I admit I did stay up until midnight just in case it got too windy due to all the old trees around me. Today was pretty windy here though. We were humming along at 50+ mph. I’ll be glad when this wind finally takes a hike! πŸ™‚

                    1. Absolutely agree! 😊

                    2. Hopefully we’re headed in the right direction toward Spring. We had a snow squall this morning, but the snow that fell blew away later.

                    3. This is only my second winter in Michigan and last winter seemed rather mild. This year has seemed rather crazy compared to last year.

                    4. It has been way colder and icier than last year, but last year was the coldest and iciest Winter we had had in a while. I hope calendar Spring signals Mother Nature to cooperate.

                    5. The trees and shrubs around our house have started budding. Exciting!  😁

                    6. Really?! Ours are slowpokes then. Nothing at all, but no one around here has forsythias, the earliest touch of color to erupt every Spring.

                    7. I noticed tiny buds on a tree by our front door and a couple of shrubs too. Our neighbor across the street planted some tulips last year and those are popping up too. Happiness! 😁

                    8. I wonder why I am not seeing that around here yet? It will warm up tomorrow for the first day of Spring – maybe I’ll see some action then.

                    9. I haven’t seen any along the trails but tomorrow, it will all get green! I am sure of it. . . . Yes. . . . maybe. 😁

                    10. Hope is good!

  3. Very beautiful, I love the yellow and purple colors and your close-up photo reveals the fine details so nicely!

    1. Thanks, Anita. So glad you enjoyed the image. 😊

  4. The closer we look at flowers, the more details we didn’t realize exist! Lovely macro, Pepper!
