After heading to warmer temps for the winter, these swallows call Chesterton, Indiana home from spring to autumn. Images captured along the trail at Coffee Creek Watershed Preserve.

  1. Your swallows are beautiful. Ours are just the brown kind-pretty but not filled with color.

    1. Thanks! I don’t know much about birds so I googled brown swallows to see what they look like. Other than color, they as so similar and even seem to shimmer in the sunshine too. Hmm . . . Wonder if we have brown one here too . . .😊

      1. I’m not sure where you are, I do know the swallows filled the sky at my in-laws farm continually eating bugs and mosquitoes.

        1. From what I have read, we have them in NW Indiana too. I will keep an eye out for them. 😊

          1. My oldest son and his wife are almost your neighbors. They travel from NE IL your direction to do off-roading in their jeeps.

            1. That sounds like fun. I will look for them. 😉
