Step Carefully

Step Carefully

Step carefully! With blue skies, an icy pier, and partly frozen Lake Michigan, it is easy to get distracted.

A snowy landscape featuring a frozen lake, a long pier with icy railings, and two lighthouses in the distance, under a clear blue sky.

This image was captured at Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk – Indiana Dunes National Park. Two other wintry scenes were featured on “Snowy Mornings on Lake Michigan.”

    1. Thank you. Leanne. Have a great week.

  5. You have captured that bone-chilling feel just by looking at this photo. That water is very blue. I like seeing photos of blue ice, especially when you see it by the Mackinac Bridge.

    1. I have only experienced the Mackinac Island in the summer. Thinking I need to head there again soon.

      1. I follow a blogger who features photographers from around Michigan and many are photographing the UP. They have had some beautiful shots of the blue ice and other features from around Michigan. You may get more ideas. I will put the site link in a separate comment. I don’t donate to his site, just follow it.

        1. Thank you. I will have a look at the site.

      2. Here is Andrew’s site and I scrolled down to get a nice scenery shot for you. The blog is not just landscape, etc., he does feature a lot of things in Detroit, like the Gordie Howe Bridge, usually taken by other photographers, sometimes himself. He lives in Detroit so is out and about doing his own photos.

        1. What a wonderful site about Michigan! Thanks so much for the link, Linda. ๐Ÿ˜Š

          1. I’m glad you liked it Pepper. And Andrew always gives the other photographer’s sites every post to encourage you to visit them – you will never run out of places to go in Michigan! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Another amazing sight so foreign to my world, beautiful Irene ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Wouldn’t it be interesting to trade locations for a few days? What an experience that would be for me. ๐Ÿ˜

      1. and for me. I have never seen or been in snow

        1. I had not seen snow either until I was an adult. Now I am surrounded by it during the winter and actually enjoy it.

    1. I tried, I tried. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  8. This is a beautiful winter scene, Pepper. I would have thought it was a road, instead of a pier. Gorgeous shot! Happy Saturday!

    1. Thanks for the challenge, Terri. It turned out to be a rather pretty day. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      1. Yes! I love a sunny, snowy day!
