Orange to Yellow

orange to yellow

A Texas flower, blending from orange to yellow petals. I am unsure of the identification of this pretty blossom. Please feel free to add a comment below if you can help with that.

  1. Beautiful colors! I use website/app to help me ID plants, animals, and insects you can join for free called iNaturalist. Upload your photo and it’ll give you suggestions that you can view to compare. It does a really, really good job. You can do it out in the field with your phone for instant ID too. 🙂 Works with birds, wildlife, fish, plants, flowers, anything that is alive on this earth. You can delete your photo after IDing. This site is an ongoing worldwide documenting data collection for those that will upload their findings with photos on the site and share location. I’ve been a member (free) for a couple years, I’ve uploaded over 2600 images of 306 species (mostly birds of course) sharing locations. A bigger data collection than eBird. It is very interesting and I enjoy the site!

    1. Sounds great, Donna. I’ll give it a try. Thank you! 😊

  2. I love the colour in this Pepper.

    1. Thanks, Leanne. The blending from yellow to orange is what caught my attention. So glad you enjoyed it too. 😊

  3. Very pretty and vibrant Pepper!

    1. Thanks, Linda. Did you enjoy the sunshine today? 😊

      1. Yes I did immensely – I didn’t mind the cold as it was invigorating!

        1. Yes, it was. 😊

          1. 🙂 Somehow a comment by you ended up in my SPAM filter. I approved it and can’t find it but will keep looking. I apologize for that Pepper. I had two comments in there today and neither one was spammy!

            1. Oh, WP! No worries, Linda. I’ve had the same thing happen to me.

              1. Thank you Pepper – sometimes I think these little things are a figment of my imagination. Since I began closing comments at 30 days I rarely, if ever, have SPAM anymore, so was surprised to see two comments.

                1. Nope, not your imagination. I’ve read about others experiencing the same thing too.

                  1. There have been some quirky things going on lately in WP. Some bloggers are saying to change your theme and go to block style. I’m not ready to do that – if I have to, I’ll do that in the Winter. Right now, I am looking forward to getting out more. My car is in the shop for a leak and someone damaged my car door with a huge scrape a few weeks ago, so I’m having it touched up at their body shop while it is there, then off for photos (hopefully). The rest of April promises to be rainy.

                    1. So sorry about your car, Linda. I’ve been using a block theme for a few years. Making a change like that is always a bit intimidating but the WP engineers have been very helpful when I’ve needed their help.

                    2. I’m angry about my car Pepper, because they have had it three days, outside, never working on it. I called tonight just before they closed. I had an appointment and the weather is not nice out there. My car has never spent time outside – it’s in an attached garage on a trickle charger 24/7/365. I gave them a piece of my mind, not that it did any good. 🙂 So far, I’m just dealing with the quirks and since I don’t use a smartphone for WP, I’ll leave it for now, but I did use the Gutenberg editor shortly after it came out because I wanted to be able to have justified margins for my text, plus underlines and other features which were no longer offered in Classic view. Unfortunately those stylistic items don’t show up in Reader.

                    3. I have to admit that I did not switch to the Gutenberg editor when it first came out. There were too many people having problems with it in the beta format. I waited a few months before switching and have been using ever since.

                    4. I waited a bit until the bugs were ironed out as well and went to it then, primarily, for the style aspects. I have to think about converting to a block theme though and that would be a Winter project if I do it (as in mandatory) … if I have to go back and edit my posts to conform with a different format, I have 2,142 posts published so far. I have 14 posts scheduled after that. I am trying to stay a month ahead with posts, even if I won’t get out much in the next few weeks. I wanted to mention that I heard about the DIA Inside/Out Program on WWJ the other day, so I checked the DIA website – they said check back later, so I will and give you the locations when I see them. You have plenty of time to visit as it runs from May through October.

  4. So beautiful! Google Images thinks this is likely the Seep Monkeyflower (Erythranthe guttata, formerly Mimulus guttatus).

    1. And the plot thickens! I’ll take a look on Google. I have no idea what a Seep Monkey flower is. Thanks for your help, Egidio. 😉

      1. You’re welcome.

  5. So beautiful, Pepper! Its shape reminds me of a bearded iris…

    1. Thanks, Terri. It does have a similar look, doesn’t it? 😉

  6. What a gorgeous flower! Orange and yellow are my favorite colors, which provide an even greater appeal.

    1. So sorry it has taken me so long to reply, Betty. I just found your comments in the spam folder. Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment.

      1. No problem, Pepper, spam happens.

  7. Looks like a hybrid pansy to me! 🙂

    1. Thanks, Eliza. I was pretty sure you’d know. Much appreciated. 😉

  8. It looks a bit like impatiens but they don’t do a colour transition like that. Whatever it is, it’s pretty. 😊

    1. Interesting! Seems like you are right on both thoughts. The mystery continues. 😁

Thoughtful words accomplish much.
