One Step at a Time #29

What a difference one week makes for photos featured on One Step at a Time #29. On last week’s post there were only hints of yellow. Yesterday, this tree was glowing in the sunshine.

    That’s amazing how quickly the tree turned golden like that – it was shocked by those few cold days I’ll bet. I’m not seeing much leaf color around here, just some sumac leaves at Council Point Park.

        No problem Pepper – I forgot to add it because that was the day I finally got out to do errands, was gone most of the day, then went to park the car in the garage and the car door handle fell off. Since it was the latest in the litany of bad Karma going on here, I was all aflutter and forgot. 🙂

        I had fun with this little trip to Lake Erie Metropark. I think I went back once or twice after that and the last time I was there, they had West Jefferson Avenue torn up and rerouted us down Woodruff – they are resurfacing the road and it was totally blocked off. I came home with tar marks on the fencers, lots of tiny pebbles in the tires, so I’m staying away for a while until they are done.

            Yes, I had to take it in (all day last Thursday – sigh). They had to get a new handle, take the door apart and put the new handle on. Plus I had to get a new fob. Three more months until 2026 is over!

      It sure is! Do oaks usually change colors first? We had a huge oak tree in our front yard in Indiana and I used to love watch its leaves change each autumn.

        Usually, oaks are the last to change, often after maples have dropped their leaves. I did note that this one seems early, so it may be stressed by drought or disease.

      Thanks, Frank. One thing I failed to include on the post was that both pics were taken on our church property this past week after a bible study. The pond sits way back in a corner hidden by trees and shrubs. Most people probably don’t even realize that this beauty of nature is there.
