One Step at a Time #25

This week’s One Step at a Time #25 comes from Island Lake Recreation Area in Brighton, Michigan. The first pic is from the trailhead of the Hickory Ridge Trail, right off the parking lot.

The six mile nature trail includes glimpses of the Huron River along the way.

    This looks like a nice park and that’s a long hiking trail, perfect and very picturesque as well. My post this week is my hike at Lake Erie Metropark with the ever-cheerful Osprey families and watching soaring kites.

      I do enjoy this park a lot because of the hiking trails and there’s also less people there than at Kensington. Thanks for your link. The Osprey and kites are a great combo. 😊

        I never realized there were so many people/photographers on that one boardwalk at Kensington. I hope you run into Jocelyn Anderson one day. I was hoping to get a contrail photo that day as I figured it’d be a good addition to the post, but didn’t see one. I got one last Saturday though … huge contrail.

          I look for Jocelyn every time I am near the boardwalk but I am also not at Kensington as often as I thought I’d be when we first moved here. Kensington is fantastic but there are many other places left to explore as well.

                You will – maybe in Winter? She is out daily, all year long on that wooden overlook feeding her birds from her palm and taking videos of them with her iPhone.

                    Well she does take still shots too, but she feeds the birds first, feeding then in the palm of one hand, taking videos with the phone with her other hand.
