One Step at a Time #19

This week’s One Step at a Time #19 is highlighting three fellow hikers of a different kind. The first is a cheetah on the prowl at the Maasai Mara Nature Reserve in Kenya.

Below is an insect stepping from wildflower to wildflower, captured along the Douglas Trail at the Indiana Dunes National Park

Last is a sandhill crane, walking along the Deer Run Trail at Kensington Metropark in Milford, Michigan.

    Not sure I would want to hike right next to the Cheetah. But it would be amazing to see (and photograph) it from a safe distance.

      I agree with you completely, Tanja. In the case of the cheetah, he was doing the hiking and we were at a safe distance and in an open jeep with two guides.

      Thanks, Teresa. I can see why the cheetah looks fierce. At the time, it didn’t seem scary even though we were in the wilderness of Africa.

    Those were great shots Pepper and all of them were taking one step at a time! My post from Sunday with the critters was really not many steps as it happened at the end of my long walk as I walked down the city street, stopping in both stops to take photos of the chipmunk, then the deer.

      Hey, Linda. I am fairly sure that no one is actually counting the number of steps taken. It is all about getting out (which counts at least for two steps), having fun, and clicking along the say. Your critters should be shown off, especially Chippie. 😁

        Okay, I will post it … I was thinking that about the flags as it was not really a hike … today I got out to three parks and walked my socks off. I wanted to make up for lost time. 🙂

            I will have to go back and answer that comment – I came back here. I’m pretty worn out now though. I was rambunctious to get as much done over these three days – Saturday is hotter, Sunday is rainy as I have errands and appointments next week. I went to Lake Erie Metropark, Elizabeth Park and Dingell Park. I enjoyed the cooler weather, a bit breezy, but I’ll take it.

    The cheetah is magnificent. You know I lived in Africa for 23 years and never had the opportunity to see, let alone photograph the wildlife there. How sad is that?!!
