One Step at a Time #18

For One Step at a Time #18, I have photos from another adventure in Dayton, Ohio. This time, my hike was at Russ Nature Preserve. With an all-natural playscape for kids, close to four miles of trails and boardwalks, it was a fun place to explore.

    When we moved from Indiana to Oregon, the green was still there, but not as thick and luscious except for the conifers. Here in California, we seem to have plenty of trees, but still don’t get the all encompassing feeling like we see in your beautiful pictures.         Yes, it makes it more tolerable. After they tore down the shoreline of Council Point Park, the trees were all gone that entire one-mile stretch on the Creek side. They are missed.

            Yes, it will never be the same and I’m tempted to ask when they plan to plant the native plants, but it likely will fall on deaf ears.
