Nature Thrives Indoors

Christmas red is popping up everywhere, even in the desert garden at Chicago’s Garfield Conservatory where the exquisiteness of nature thrives indoors. Free and open to the public year round, Garfield Conservatory offers warmth and beauty any time of the year.

My last time there, I came across the tiny red blossoms of a Crown of Thorns shrub (below). Garfield Conservatory is one of my favorite places for a casual stroll in the windy city of Chicago.

  2. I have two crown of thorns just like these out front, Pepper. They are wonderful plants! <3

    1. How wonderful to have them blooming right there at your front door! The only place I have seen crown of thorns is in conservatories.

  3. I have Smith College greenhouses as my winter getaway spot. Keeps me grounded!

    1. Those places are much appreciated, especially during the winter. 😊

    1. Thanks, Susan. It is a wonderful garden. 😊
