Lines and Patterns

Lines and Patterns

A gallery of lines and patterns, both natural and manufactured. First, lines on a palm leaf and a naturally curly vine. Both were photographed at Matthaei Botanical Gardens

Next, full of colorful patterns, the awe inspiring Tiffany dome below has stood in Chicago’s Cultural Center since 1897.

Last, step off the boardwalk onto the shores of Lake Michigan. Appropriately named Lake View Beach is part of the Indiana Dunes National Park. The unfurling fern is one of many that grows along the Indiana Dunes National Park’s Cowles Bog Trail.

Other images of patterns were featured on “Nature’s Perfect Patterns.”

  15. Stellar set, Pepper. Do you miss being close to Indiana Dunes?

    1. There are so many new trails and lakes in our area to explore that I have not missed the dunes yet. After hiking the trails at the dunes for a dozen years or so, I knew exactly where I was heading as soon as I stepped out my front door and looked at the light in the sky. There were better trails to photograph on foggy mornings and others in bright sunshine. I am enjoying getting that familiar with the trails around me in Michigan. πŸ˜‰

  16. A wonderful gallery for this challenge. I love that macro palm leaf, green but with a slightest tinge of yellow accents. Harmonious color pallet. That tile work is a great example of colors and patterns.
