Is it Well?

Is it Well?

Is it well? This is a letter written to my hundred year old self. By then, everything is new again because I will have forgotten what I’ve written.

Hello to my 100 year old self. It is hard to believe that I made it through an entire century of learning. Knowledge was gained from some of life’s darkest days alongside some of the greatest joys. My prayer is that I remembered that a “good life” is not about me and what I have accomplished. Instead, it is all about keeping my eyes on Jesus Christ.

On the hardest days, did I lift my eyes and hands up in the air? Did I say, “It’s all going to be fine. God’s got this one for me!” Did I follow Christ or the wants of the world?

On the best days, did I remember to say, “Thank you, Jesus!

At 100 years old, is it well with my soul?

Is It Well?

  2. It is nice to have your eye to God’s creation. Lovely also to notice you do have hope in the grace of salvation and keeping an eye on Jesus. But by looking at Jesus do not forget to look further and see his heavenly Father and our only One True God, the Elohim Hashem Jehovah.

  8. I like this idea of writing a letter to your 100 year old self. Itโ€™s a great way to try to put your life into perspective and focus on what matters.

    1. I first heard of this idea from an English teacher who had her high school seniors do something simliar. They had to write themselves a letter to their 30 year older selves and not read it until 30 years later. Several of her students were interviewed after reading the letters 30 years later and the perspectives were so interesting. ๐Ÿ˜Š
