Heading down a boardwalk in the shadows of trees. This is a section of the trail 10 loop at the Indiana Dunes State Park. Only a few feet ahead, the path opens up to a wonderful view of the wetland. With benches and scopes in this area, it is a perfect place to relax while birdwatching.
After enjoying the quietness of the wetlands, continue on the boardwalk. It will lead you into the shadows of trees on the other side. The trail through the forest is considered moderately difficult since it goes up and over sand dunes. This is also one trail used for cross country skiing in the winter.
