With day after day of gray winter days, I found myself in need of color. The more vibrant, the better. I brought color indoors by purchasing cut flowers at the store. That also gave me an excuse to work on my macro photography in the warm comfort of home.

Another great place to enjoy warmth and flowers on a winter day is at a conservatory. Cacti blossoms from Matthaei Botanical Gardens were featured on “A Prickly Beauty.“
