Birds of a Feather Flock Together

A proverb used to describe people or “Birds of a Feather” with similar interests who spend time together. Thinking back to a few of my long lasting friendships, this is definitely true in my own life. This must also be true about some birds as well. Sandhill cranes, for instance, migrate as a group. Whenever I have come across one while hiking, a mate is usually close by as well.

“Birds of a feather flock together.”

When I spotted this sandhill crane, it did not seem to be in a hurry to leave. Though it did keep a close eye on me while I worked on getting a closeup of its beautiful feathers. The first image was used on an earlier post, “Now Scoot.”

What about you? Do you hang out with complementary birds of a feather?

  12. That’s a wary bird indeed. Nice photo.
The cranes of the genus Antigone are really impressive. We don’t have the sandhill cranes, but we do get to see the Antigone antigone.

    1. I had no idea there were so many different cranes. I looked up the Antigone antigone. They are very similar but with more red on their head and gray feathers, right? Thanks for increasing my knowledge of birds through your site. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thoughtful words accomplish much.
