An Open Gate

An Open Gate

An open gate to the front yard but a locked front door kept me from going inside. A simple white house on Penn Farm at Cedar Hill State Park in Texas caught my attention and I wanted to see more.

Three other photos from Cedar Hill State Park were featured on One Step at a Time #4.

  1. It could be a fixer-upper with a can of paint – what a great ad this could be!

    1. I like the simplicity of it and it is in the middle of a forest. What could be better? ๐Ÿ˜

      1. Yes, peace and quiet and having the place to yourself – ahh … (just no spiders or snakes please). ๐Ÿ™‚

        1. I can do without the spiders and snakes as well. ๐Ÿ˜‰

          1. How do we ever enjoy and spend time outdoors I wonder? ๐Ÿ™‚

            1. I have no idea. I try not to think about them when I am out enjoying the outdoors. ๐Ÿ˜Š

              1. Yes, same here Pepper. What I don’t see means they don’t exist, right? Except last year I was looking at pictures I took on a walk and saw a big brown snake on a tree trunk that I was right in front of and didn’t see. I almost fell off my chair when I saw it on the screen! ๐Ÿ™‚

                1. That would have scared me too! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

                  1. Yes, how did I not see it? It did not completely blend in. I’m leery of swampy areas and Eastern Fox snakes. I was walking along a trail once and was near the end so I was putting the camera away while I was walking and I saw movement ahead and a huge snake slithered across the path so quickly I thought I was imagining things. I high-tailed it out of there and never looked back.

                    1. I would have like to have seen that from a distance. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. It does spark curiosity! It’s unfortunate it wasn’t kept up. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Yes, it did leave me full of curiosity. Thanks for commenting, Betty. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      1. My pleasure!

  3. I wonder what it looks inside!

    1. I am still wondering too! I couldn’t even look in the window. ๐Ÿ˜

  4. I think I understand why you wanted to go in side. It somehow beckons.

    1. It’s the rebel in me, I guess. Try to keep me out and I want to see it even more. ๐Ÿ˜
