Afternoon Clouds

Afternoon Clouds

On most days, midday light is too bright and harsh for photography. On the other hand, afternoon clouds can make all the difference in the world.

Missed opportunities have taught me to get out on days with afternoon clouds. During Midwest winters, afternoons are not only warmer but the light can often be easier to work with. For those reasons, I now try to get out on cloudy afternoons too. The image above was captured at Kensington Metropark, in Milford Michigan.

A gallery of images were from Kensington Metropark were featured on “HIke, Click, Hike.”

  1. I don’t mind cloudy afternoons, so long as it’s not raining!

    1. Same here! I am watchful for rain on those cloudy days. 😉

  2. Not to mention that these blazing days, it might even be a bit cooler under clouds. 🥵

    1. So true! Definitely a plus. 😊

Thoughtful words accomplish much.
