Across a Crooked Bridge

Anyone up for venturing across a crooked bridge?

I found this bridge quite by accident while exploring the Ritchie Nature Preserve in Chesterton, Indiana. It looks unstable, doesn’t it? I am always up for taking a chance and this time was no different. Yes, I made it across and back. Other than being rather narrow and crooked, it was really quite stable. Not taking any chances with my camera, I did put it away in my bag before taking a step across.

    I might have looked for a tree branch on the ground to use as a walking stick to help me get across. Even if one doesn’t have to lean on it heavily, it provides a sense of security.

    Sounds like you have good balance! Good call on putting your camera away to cross back and forth.

      Actually, I put my camera away and went across very slowly because I don’t trust my balance much. 😂

    Brave of you! We actually have a similar one crossing our creek, but it is wider and with more closely spaced (albeit uneven) boards. A bit wobbly, but it works. We call it our Swiss Family Robinson bridge. 😉
