Sunny skies brought picturesque clouds from above and below. This first image was taken on a hike around the Wildwing Trail at Kensington Metropark.

This easy looped trail around Wildwing Lake is accessible from the Nature Center parking lot. For photographers like me, the highlight is a view of blue herons nesting high in the trees across from the boardwalk.

I captured the first image last week (April 2025) during a leisurely morning hike. The second capture of the herons was shot during a short visit to Michigan in 2021. Other recent images from Kensington Metropark can be found in my post “Hike, Click, Hike.”
