  1. Tranquil and peaceful scene and weather – it sounds good right about now. Mother Nature has her good moments but her bad ones too. I feel blessed to be unscathed by the winds and storms that blew through Thursday afternoon … losing power/internet is a small price to pay.

    1. What a great attitude to have about your power outage, Linda. 😊

      1. Well, I am trying to be calm about it Pepper because I am very grateful I had no issues and was not hurt or the house damages, although today, the generator failed its weekly self-test and registered a a low oil pressure problem which is unusual/disturbing, so I’m glad I already had an appointment for tomorrow, otherwise, I’d have to try and get someone out here ASAP. It’s been a long week – hopefully the rain holds off ’til tomorrow afternoon and we don’t have severe weather tomorrow.

        1. Hope all goes well for you today. 😊

          1. Thank you – it did go well but unbelievably I walked into the backyard with him and saw a long dead tree limb impaled in my 60-year-old large Firebush and the top of the limb were branches tangled in the wires. I don’t know how I missed it on Thursday, but I was scurrying around looking for any damage to the house/roof/siding, etc. and picking up pieces of trees (small ones with leaves). DTE says they’ll try to get here within a week.

            1. Oh, my goodness! I hope it didn’t completely destroy your Firebush. So glad your house was not damaged. 😮

              1. Interestingly, it came between the two of the bushes. A DTE tree contractor came to see the lines this morning; none are electrical lines, so his crew would not remove the tree limb. So I have contacted the guy who did my high bush trimming, gutters and did a landscaping job last year with mulch and retention bricks. He also does tree trimming/removal and will come by tomorrow to see if he can remove the tree from the bush and wires. This is just an unbelievable saga … the entire week has. My internet is very spotty today as it’s been windy.

                1. It sure has been a tough week for you. So sorry. 😣

                  1. Thank you – I appreciate you saying that. The tree guy still has not come … I didn’t want to leave the house. I was hoping he would remove the tree limb and branch today. Well, it’s light a little longer, so I’m hopeful.

                    1. Are you still waiting?

                    2. Yes, he did not show yesterday.

                    3. Oh, my! 😕

                    4. Yes, sigh. He closes in 20 minutes, so likely it won’t be today either and he’s off Sunday.

                    5. The courtesy of a phone call to let you know when they will be there would have been nice.

                    6. I agree with you. Here I sit, the third day in a row, waiting … I just sent him a message on his “contact me” page. When I got him “live” as a chat session on Thursday afternoon, he was receptive to stopping by, doing a “fix” (after he saw it) and I wanted to discuss taking the tree down. It’s not my tree. I’ve never spoken to these neighbors – don’t know their name except from City tax website, which I’m not interested to use their name that way – it would appear I was snooping – I was snooping as my neighbor said they were renters and I wanted to know if the owner showed up as a company or not). My insurance company said to send a letter, but I didn’t do that as I hoped Andrew would show up, they might go outside and I could ask if they’re having the tree cut down. The tree is huge, dead and buggy – I have lots of pics I took for the insurance company when I called to ask for suggestions.)
