Reflections give you two images for the price of one, so to speak. I visited this area a decade ago, when it was a Indiana Dunes National Seashore but not yet National Park.

I have wondered the exact same thing often, Janet. Great Blue Herons seem so focused on their catch, I don’t think they notice their own reflection. 🤔
