Balancing Act

Balancing Act

Just ignore him! He shows off his balancing act to everyone who walks past us.

Sandhill cranes are among many birds at Kensington Metropark in Michigan. The park is a draw to birds of all kinds and photographers too. The two go hand-in-hand.

Wherever there are lots of birds,
there will be a photographer
waiting for that perfect shot.

Kensington Metropark

This photographer above was focused on capturing the blue herons flying back and forth from their nests. As I clicked away from behind, I was not even noticed. Yes, I am guilty of stopping and waiting for the perfect shot. How about you?

Two other pairs of birds were featured on “Where Did They Go.

    1. Oh, great! I’ll have a look. πŸ‘πŸΎ

    1. Thanks, Gisela. 😊

  2. Half of a crane’s brain sleeps at one time; that’s when it retracts the opposite leg. The other half of the brain is awake and still watching for dangers. Half asleep has a different meaning for many birds.

    1. I had no idea! My whole brain cannot grasp how that is even possible. πŸ˜‰

  3. A wonderful photo Irene. Yes I wait for ages at times to get “that photo”
Why do Sandhill Cranes stand on one leg? If they lifted both, they’d fall over! πŸ˜‚

    1. You are too funny, Brian! πŸ˜‚

  4. They fly above our place regularly, but I’ve never managed an at rest photo. I just love the majesty of their flying.

    1. This pair pretty much ignored me while I clicked. That made it much easier for me. 😊

Thoughtful words accomplish much.
