As Far As I Can See

Looking out at a frozen Lake Michigan as far as I can see.

A scenic winter landscape featuring a barren tree on the left, snow-covered ground leading to a frozen lake or river in the background, under a partly cloudy sky.

This was winter a few years ago at the Indiana Dunes National Park. This is along the shores of Lake Michigan on Lake View Beach. Another scene about half a mile further down the snowy beach was featured in “Shades of Gray.”

  3. It looks rather desolate, albeit pretty.

    1. It does seem desolate during the winter. It is quite the opposite in the summertime.

      1. It amazes me how desolate it looks in Winter and how everything quickly “greens up” and flowers begin emerging from the ground in Spring.

        1. Oh, yes! Today is the prettiest day we’ve had all year. Happiness! ๐Ÿ˜

          1. Yes, it was sunny and felt almost tropical didn’t it? I heard on the weather report that it will be more moderate temps the rest of February. We so deserve that!

  4. Beings back lovely memories of winter in the Chicago and Cleveland areas. Iโ€™m not being sarcastic. I loved winter.

    1. It was! ๐Ÿ˜‰ The first time I ever saw Lake Michigan, the beach was covered in snow. The Texan in me thought it was plain wrong! That was almost 22 years ago. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  8. I showed it on my Blog.

    1. Thanks and I am glad you enjoyed our snow, ๐Ÿ˜
