A goal while on our African Safari was to see the Great Migration of the wildebeest and other wildlife. Depending on weather, mainly rainfall, the migration can take place anytime between July through October. Our two weeks in Kenya at the end of August 2024, happened to be too early that year. We did watch zebras making a slow crossing across the Mara River.

Was I disappointed not to see the Great Migration. Of course! I knew capturing the migration would be a big challenge for me but I had been hopeful. Did it ruin my trip? Absolutely NOT.
The entire experience was much more than I had expected. Witnessing the variety of wildlife in their own environment was incredible. The Maasai people were also graceful and full of wisdom that they were willing to share with us.
Photos of a wildebeest and other wildlife can be seen on my post “Into the Wild.”
