The American West

Just got back home after spending a few days in the beauty of the American West and more specifically, on the edge of Medicine Bow National Forest in Saratoga, Wyoming.

On Easter Sunday, we drove up the Snowy Range Scenic Byway as far as we could without a snow mobile before turning back. On the way back, we made a stop at The Farm at Brush Creek to enjoy the beautiful landscapes. This was the highlight of our wonderful adventure. Can’t wait to go back again and again.

  1. Lovely images of the snowy landscape. Glad to hear that you had a fun adventure.

    1. Thanks! I always enjoy exploring the expanse of Wyoming. 😊

  2. Beautiful scenery, not unlike Wyoming’s southern neighbor, Colorado, which I call home.

    1. Very true! We lived in Eagle, Colorado for 10 months and enjoyed it immensely. Wish we could have stayed longer to explore the area. 😊

      1. 10 months is better than no time, but they pass very quickly. I lived in Summit County for a while, which is similar to Eagle County. I loved it, but found the long winters difficult to deal with after a few years. Many trails were snow-covered until June or even July, and the first snow would fall again in October.

        1. It did go by way too quickly. We moved there from Texas at the beginning of October and had our first snowfall before the end of the month. Those ten months were all a fun adventure for me. 😊

  3. 👌👌👌📷😉 It’s as cold there as we are😁. Have a nice weekend dear Irene🌞📷☺

    1. It was a bit cold in Wyoming. Much warmer back at home this weekend.

  4. Very beautiful, Pepper, but it gives me chills! 🙂

    1. Understandable. It is hard to think of spring and snow together. 😁

    1. It wouldn’t have been too bad if the wind hadn’t been blowing across the valley at 45 mph. On the night we landed back in Indiana, it actually felt colder stepping off of the airplane than it did in Wyoming. Go figure! 😁

Words can brighten the grayest of days.
