  8. Your macro work is gorgeous. What lens do you use for close-up work? When I was shooting years ago, I had my eye on a Canon 100mm f/2.8 1:1 macro but couldn’t afford it, so I used a set-up consisting of my 35-80mm f/4.0-5.6 zoom, a Tamron 2x teleconverter, and three close-up diopters (+1, +2, +3) to achieve full 1:1 magnification. I was totally surprised at the image quality as the sharpness was incredible and there were no visual defects, considering all the extra glass added to the set-up. Just curious. πŸ™‚

    1. I have a Nikon 105mm macro lens. I have a teleconverter but have not used it with my macro lens. I have used it with another lens and it does a wonderful job. I have never tried diopters but I know other photographers who use them and are quite happy with them. Keep using whatever works for you. There are a lot of options that work just fine out there. 😊

Words can brighten the grayest of days.
