Waiting for sunrise from Maui’s highest peak at Haleakala National Park at 10,023 feet above sea level.

Sunshine breaking through the clouds below to clear skies above.

Looking out at the universe from the the summit of Haleakala National Park is worth experiencing time and time again.

Some amazing and colorful photos here.
Thanks, Frank. It was an amazing place to be. π
How dramatic the landscape is, here Pepper. I’ve never been to Hawaii! Thanks for the lovely glimpse! <3
I hope you get a chance to experience Hawaii one day. If I could pick one place to live forever, it would definitely be Maui. π
Wow…..wow….. π§‘ππππ§‘
Maui has the most magnificent sunrises and sunsets ever. π
Gorgeous captures. We visited Maui a few years ago and unfortunately we weren’t able to reserve a spot at Haleakala National Park to watch the sunrise. It was nice to imagine what it would have looked like through your pictures.
Those sunrise reservations disappear quickly. I hope you get another chance to experience the beauty of Maui. π
So beautiful! Many years ago when we visited Maui we did the bike ride down the mountain. Drove up the mountain at about 2:00 am, watched the sunrise, then we rode bikes down the mountain with a stop for breakfast on the way. Amazing adventure!!
How fun that must have been! I am not brave enough to do the bike ride down the mountain. π
Oh, the hardest part was just getting up at about 1:00 for the long shuttle ride up the hill! Going down was quite easy!
Yep, not easy getting up that early. π
Magnificent images. What a profound experience this must have been, nearly two miles up atop a volcano watching the sunrise! The earth is so still and silent at these times, so peaceful. Beautiful stuff. π
It was amazing, Mike. Most beautiful place ever for watching a sunrise. π
Memorable sunrise, for sure. Beautiful photos, Pepper. Bet it was chilly at 10K feet!
It sure was quite a bit cooler up at the summit but so worth it. Thanks for stopping by, Eliza. π
Definitely not Hampstead Heath π Wonderful shots and thanks for sharing ππ
Thanks! Definitely a bit different from London but London does have itβs own beauty. π
ππππ·ππ beautiful shots … I haven’t been taking pictures of dawn in a long time. I guess I was lazyππ€£π
Not lazy, maybe the smarter one. π I have always been a morning person to the point that I havenβt set an alarm clock for decades. On the other hand, it is almost impossible to get me out the door for a sunset. π
So I never had an alarm clock in my life. I get up all my life between 3-4 in the morning. So I’m really just lazy π€£π€£π€£ How come the nurse doesn’t know?π€ππ
Iβm not telling. π

Your photos perfectly capture this precious moment. Must have been a sublime experience.
Thank you! Sunrises are beautiful from just about anywhere but experiencing it from the summit of a volcano at Haleakala National Park is unforgettable. π
