Locked in Place

Other than being macro, this is definitely outside of my usual photography box. Seemingly locked in place, these chains caught my eye and I couldn’t resist clicking.

    1. Sorry, Gisela. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      1. We have to know about those terrible things.

        1. Gisela, I truly do not understand, The photo was taken at the Indiana Dunes National Park where so many of my other images are also from. This is a pic of a chain that is at an entrance of a trail that is closed to any type of motorized vehicle. Employees of the National Park and the fire department use it for quick access to the forest and trails in case of an emergency. Because the photo was shot very close with a macro lens, the parts of the gate that each end of the chain is attached to does not show up in the image. It also looks at least twice its actual size because of the macro lens. The photo was not meant to cause anyone discomfort or distress and I am sorry that it has made you uncomfortable.

The trail itself is open to the public and there is no fence on either side of the gate. Hikers can just step around the gate on either side. It is only meant to keep motorized vehicles off the trails and not people. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you’d like any further explanation. I always appreciate your comments. ๐Ÿ˜‰

          1. Thank You very much vor your words. I didn’t know anything about the circumstances and the place, where You did the shot.
I look everyday into Internet and see, what ist happening in our world, and we Germans possible now are involved in a big WAR.
But nowbody wants this of our people. There have been so terrible things in the PaรŸt.
But now, in the Present, many people in many countries are bounded into such chains, and many of those are innocent.
This was what I was thinkeng about, when I watched Your shot.

            1. Oh, my goodness! I had not thought of it from that perspective. I completely understand now and it makes me sad too.
