Hung Out to Dry

It must have been wash day in Florence, Italy. Towels were hung out to dry in the open air.

  1. Well said! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I love Italy! Picturesque with their ubiquitous geraniums and laundry. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I loved it too. I hope I get to go back one day. ๐Ÿ˜Š

  3. That’s the best way to dry!!

    1. My mom would have completely agreed with you about that. She lived to be 100 years old and still hung her clothes out to dry. I once bought her a dryer and she rarely used it. She might have only used it whenever I went to visit. ๐Ÿค”

      1. I only dry my towels and linens; if I hang them to dry, they get so crunchy and hard. It’s like wiping down with big scrub towel…not exactly what you want after a shower. lol.
My husband doesn’t understand why I don’t use the dryer; he thinks it’s too much work for me to hang dry. Whatever! I’m all good.

        1. My perspective is whoever is doing the work of washing gets to decide the washing and drying process. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  4. Beautiful! I love seeing clothes hanging outside. You must go to southern Europe to find it.

    1. I’d love to go back to Europe to find more clotheslines to photograph, Filipa. Meet you there? ๐Ÿ˜

      1. Definitely Pepper! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Just tell me where and when and I’ll be there.

  5. I like the shutters. And hope strange to have 2 step ladders out on the balconies too

    1. I haven’t figured out the step ladders either, Debbie. I love that the shutters are not only pretty but functional as well. Most of the houses around us have shutters that are just a decoration, without a practical purpose other than looks. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. Why is it that in Italy, even washing lines are beautiful?

    1. Teresa, you are so right about that! Italy is wonderful. ๐Ÿ˜

  7. Funnyโ˜บ๏ธ

    1. Yes, this pic always makes me smile. Italy was a fun place to visit. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thoughtful words accomplish much.
