Hovering in the Garden

I posted the color version of this image early last year. As I was scrolling through my library, I decided to try this one in black & white. Click here for a glimpse of this sunflower and bee in bright colors. I am curious to know what you think of the two. Do you like one more than the other?

  1. Both are very beautiful. It’s funny how your focus may change depending on whether a picture is in colour or black and white.

    1. It is interesting. I don’t think I had noticed that until I compared this image. πŸ€”

  2. Beautiful to see

    1. Thank you. 😊

  3. There is something so attractive about black and white. The detail of prickly black on the flower and then the shadow. I think I look more carefully at black and white.

    1. Yay! Glad to read that the b&w got your attention. Thanks for responding. 😊

  4. I the greyscale is my preference, mostly because there is a better illusion of depth to it. But I “liked” the color version and still do.

    1. Great insight, Michael. In this case, the contrast of b&w does seem to emphasize the depth. I’ll have to keep that in mind in the future. 😊

  5. Both very good, but color wins again.

    1. Thanks for your input. It is hard to beat the bright colors that are missing on this one. 😊

  6. Great timing Pepper on this photo πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

    1. I’d love to say I got exactly what I was planning but that wouldn’t be true, Cee. If I remember right, I was clicking while the bee was sitting on the sunflower. It happened to take off as I clicked the shutter. Didn’t realize what I had until I got home. 😁

    1. Thanks, Filipa. 😊

  8. It is difficult to decide between these two fotos, what I Like best.

    1. So glad you like them both, Gisela. Thanks so much for responding. 😊

  9. It’s a tough call but I think I like the black and white better (or is it sepia).

    1. Thanks! The b&w seems to be slightly ahead on this one. Have a wonderful weekend. 😊

  10. This is beautiful! It looks like the bee is dancing with his shadow.

    1. It sure does! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend. 😊

Thoughtful words accomplish much.
