Fairest of Them All

A great blue heron, intently looking at its own reflection as if thinking, “Who is the fairest of them all?”

Remaining the fairest of them all takes an awful lot of effort and preening!

Enjoying the warmth of morning sunshine at the Great Marsh – Indiana Dunes National Park.

    1. Thanks Mike. We have quite a lot of herons around until the fall. They are usually skittish and take off as soon as they hear me coming. This one just ignored me. 😁
