Bamboozled by Green

Don’t be bamboozled by green grass into thinking there was warmth on the trails of Gabis Arboretum. The reality of a cold day is much better depicted in the scene below taken on the same day, same place. Up for a dip in the icy pond anyone?

  1. Looks lovely. I never understood how people willingly take a polar plunge into icy waters. No thanks!

    1. I am with you on that. No polar plunge for me. 😁

I’d say, nope! 😁 We just had our local charity event, the ‘polar bear plunge’, where you run into the Chesapeake Bay from our town’s little beach and immerse yourself down into the icy cold water and then run screaming back to the beach and a towel! πŸ₯Ά The water was in the high 40’s, and, no, I didn’t do it, I was bundled up in my coat, hat and gloves! πŸ˜‚ Do they do these ‘plunges’ around Lake Michigan? It’s a popular winter charity event on the east coast. Usually makes a lot of money for the charity it’s hosting. πŸ™‚

    1. Yes, there is a Polar Plunge into Lake Michigan at Ogden Dunes on New Year’s Day. The only exception is if there is shelf ice on the lake. I am definitely not brave enough to take the plunge. I’d be standing with you staying bundled up and warm. 😁

  3. Beautiful and serene πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ§‘

    1. That it is. Have a wonderful week. 😊

  4. Icy pond!!!
    No way πŸ™‚

    1. Hehe! I didn’t either. πŸ˜‚
