Since my hubby had to attend his annual training at Flight Safety this month, as a good wife I felt compelled to tag along. He got to sit in class for two days and in a simulator for three days while I forced myself to enjoy an early spring along the Texas trails in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Who do you think got the better end of that deal?
On this trip to Texas, the butterfly at the top, paused long enough for me to click at the Butterfly House in the Texas Discovery Gardens. The two florals next to it were captured at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden along with the tulips below. I also discovered the Lake Grapevine Horseshoe Trails (pictured above) and I cannot wait to go back. These trails intertwine and are not always well marked but with a hiking app, I was able to find my way around and it was well worth exploring.
The Texas weather in March is absolutely perfect. During my week long stay, lows were in the 50’s and highs in the 70’s Fahrenheit and without any irritating mosquitoes yet. The Texan in me was a very happy camper.
