A Moment in Time

Capturing a moment in time while out on a trail that I’ve never been on before, quickly results in losing track of the clock. Distracted by the fast changing light of the morning, buzzing of insects, bird song, deer running off with a loud huff when I get too close, or walking right into a spiderweb, all seize my attention.

With more opportunity to be creative, macro images seem to take me quite a bit longer to capture. Then, there’s the wind that decides to cool me down with a breeze right at the moment that I click!

Wind, I appreciate the help but can it please wait until after I click?

All these photos were taken yesterday at Fernwood Gardens in Niles, Michigan. It was my first time there and I cannot wait to go back since there’s much more to explore.

One of the trails runs along the edge of the St. Joseph River and the sunshine provided lovely reflections.

    1. Very true. 😊

  3. It’s easy to loose track of time when you’re having fun! Great captures!

  4. I love the spike of purple flowers, and how the second flower is almost framed by the spider threads.

    1. Yay and thank you. I am really glad that the lighting and background helped the web stand out. 😁

  5. Very nice! I was reminded of a funny quote I seen one time, : D “I just did a week’s worth of cardio after walking into a spider’s web!”

    1. The quote made me laugh because that was exactly what I did! 😂 I spotted the web right as my knee touched it and by then the huge spider was on my leg.

Thoughtful words accomplish much.
